Dennis Chamber came to talk to us about Pluckley being the most haunted village in England. After a bit of a slow introduction he began to tell us some spooky tales that may have occurred around the village.
Whether we wanted to believe them or not was up to us.
During our interval we all sampled Jane’s 1920’s ginger cake (she has obviously baked it fresh that day but used a 1920’s recipe from the WI 100years of cooking book page 29) Jane was disappointed at the density of the cake but in fact if you look at the ingredients they used then it is of no surprise. Thank you Jane it was delicious.
Next month’s meeting we look forward to Caroline cooking scones page 203.
Clare has kindly organised a writing competition to which there is a prize .No it is not a night out with Dennis in Pluckley being Spooked .It is a book token ......So get writing please.
As usual we all signed up for all the extra activities we are planning. How on earth Gill [the treasurer) sorts the money out is a minor miracle!
Finally, I was so pleased /chuffed/delighted that all our self promotion is paying off. We welcomed back some past members as well as some lovely new faces. WELCOME
Horsmonden TWILITE is only as good as we want it to be. If it’s fun, friendship and laughter you have joined the right WI.
See you soon
